The future of work is now!
I decided to launch ALMA after working for 25 years for startups and large tech companies including Google, Indeed, Rocket Internet in different leadership positions. Time after time, I realized how the way we organize work needed to be adapted in order to attract and keep the best talents. As creativity and collaboration are more and more critical to succeed in the coming years, and remote work became so easy thanks to cheap and officient tools, traditional work pattern based on full time physical presence in an office will progressively disappear for many workers. However, the Covid crisis showed us that working alone, full time from home, can generate a new form of stress in the long term and lead to a lack of engagement.
I believe that a sustainable, healthier, more inspiring "future of work" is possible. Hybrid approaches based on a mix of physical presence at the office and flexible work from home is definitely moving into the right direction. But it is not sufficient to build a company's culture and maintain high level of motivation for talents. The key missing ingredient is "Third venues". These "pop up extensions" of the office space should go beyond co-working which tend to be quite poor in terms of collective experience.
ALMA was born on the belief that top talents need and deserve to work in outstanding conditions, surrounded by nature, away from urban pressure, during a few weeks every year. This is what I call "active retreat for professionals". It's about getting together with colleagues, ecosystem partners, in a beautiful location to work, share experiences, learn and grow.
Menorca, of which I fell in love when I first visited in 2014, is the perfect place to build such experiences thanks to its unique combination of authenticity, preserved nature while being very accessible from most European countries and offering best in class venues, services.
At ALMA, we are happy to build and share such "green and blue experiences" with you and your teams!
